The Gathering Place 50 Plus Community Center
The Schoharie County Council of Senior Citizens, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization mission is to provide healthy and active lifestyles for people who are 50 plus in Schoharie County and surrounding areas.
The Senior Council opened The Cobleskill Gathering Place 50 Plus Community Center on June 1, 2021, in Cobleskill, N.Y., with the vision to support the 50 Plus Community and inspire friendships, social engagement, and stimulating active living.
With community support, fostered growth, and increasing senior populations in our surrounding communities, the Senior Council of Schoharie County opened a second location of their Gathering Place in Oneonta, N.Y.
The Oneonta Gathering Place 50 Plus Community Center opened on Saturday, September 9, 2023, to provide healthy and active lifestyles for people who are 50 plus. Both Gathering Place centers offer an excellent opportunity to serve our 50-plus community in various ways.

The work we do at our Non-Profit Organization is aimed at providing a holistic approach to solving some of our senior’s biggest challenges. We make sure our partners are empowered by creating opportunities for individuals and our community.

The Everything Shoppe Thrift Store
To help fund our organization, the Schoharie County Council of Senior Citizens, Inc. operates The Everything Shoppes Thrift Store in Schoharie County New York.
Our shoppes specialize in offering items such as quality used clothing, miscellaneous household items, and numerous other novelties, as well as crafts made by local crafters.
The public can avail themselves of wearing apparel in the event of fire or disaster. Clothing is also available for job interviews when re-entering the workforce or for a job change.
